Your graphics can either be “embossed” in which your artwork is raised up on the card surface or “debossed” where your designs are depressed/indented onto the card stock. The embossed or debossed areas can be applied to the printed or foil areas. Note: The print technique has an emboss / deboss mark on both sides.

As the embossing takes place, the card is being debossed simultaneously. The indentation that goes "into" the card is the same material coming "out" on the other side.
